Common Sense Carbon Reduction
Power Mojo offers Common Sense Carbon Reduction (“CSCR”), a voluntary employee program sponsored by your company, driven by Power Mojo, and incorporated into your ESG/Sustainability 2023 report.
CSCR will track the carbon dioxide (carbon) content (in aggregate) of your employees’ electricity usage and implement carbon reduction plans.
Power Mojo will provide:
- Auditable reporting
- Validation based on the integration of ERCOT data with EPA guidelines and models
- Real-time ERCOT data based on 15-minute intervals
- Historical carbon content of employees’ electricity usage
Data is housed by and made available through Power Mojo’s proprietary customer portal. This allows employees to see historical carbon content of their electricity usage and gives them the tools to use electricity during times when there are more renewables producing on the grid.

U.S. electric utility and independent power electricty generation and resulting CO2 emissions by fuel in 2020
Electricity generation is net electricity generation.
Includes electricty-only power plants. Combined heat and power plants are excluded
because of their CO2 emissions are from fuel consumption for heating purposes.

CO2 Data
- 1 kWh of gas-generated electricity = 0.91 lbs. of CO2
- CO2 is 79% of Greenhouse Gas ("GHG" emissions
- Electricity is 31% of CO2 emissions
- Electricity generation is 24.5% of GHG emissions
The average home in Texas uses 1,200 kWh per month. If we can displace gas-generated kWh with wind and solar-generated kWh, a real reduction in carbon occurs just by applying common sense to electricity usage.
For Example
- 10 kWh per month = 9.1 lbs. of CO2
- 120 kWh per year = 109.2 lbs. of CO2/year
- 1,000 households = 109,200 lbs. of carbon or 54.6 short tons of CO2
This can be obtained through common sense education and usage of electricity:
- Charge electric vehicle during green periods
- Utilize smart thermostat
- Precool and preheat home
- Run dishwasher and washer/dryer during green periods
- Run pool pump during green periods

Additional Benefits
- Employees who choose to take advantage of Power Mojo’s concierge services will be ensured of enrollment in a market-based (green) product and not rolled into variable pricing.
- Power Mojo’s green electricity program will add additional benefits to the company’s GHG and CO2/carbon reduction goals. . Power Mojo will proactively place employees in 100% green electricity contracts, which will be tracked along with CSCR and reported quarterly to your company.
- Power Mojo will calculate Renewable Energy Credits (“REC”) needed to convert 100% of employee home electricity usage to green.
