How does Power Mojo work?

Power Mojo is an electricity management company that takes care of all your energy needs. With our proprietary systems, we manage all aspects of the contract process and consistently monitor the market to ensure our members have access to below-market pricing that is only available to Power Mojo. We can save you time and hassle while reducing your electricity costs.

How much is the Membership fee?

Power Mojo is a membership service with a subscription fee of $10/month or $85 for the first year. This subscription fee is separate from your electricity bill and is drafted automatically from the card you place on file.

Will you ever put me in a variable (month-to-month) rate?

Power Mojo will not place members in a month-to-month plan as a general rule. We place members in fixed-rate contracts, usually ranging from 3 to 36 months, though the terms can vary depending on market conditions and available offers. In extreme conditions, with inflated rates and limited options, it may be more cost effective to keep members in a monthly hold-over rate with their current provider for a brief period of time.

Can I cancel my Power Mojo Membership at any time?

You may cancel your membership with us at any time by calling us at (832) 632-8360 or emailing us at mymojo@PowerMojo.com. Power Mojo does not charge a cancellation fee; however, cancelling service with the retail electricity provider will be subject to the terms and conditions of your contract, which will likely include an early termination fee.

Do I have to provide my Social Security Number?

Because electricity is typically paid for after the service has been provided, retail electricity providers are required to validate your identity and credit worthiness prior to starting service. To do this, they run a soft credit check, also known as a utility credit check, that requires your full legal name, social security number, and date of birth.

Can I find a better plan myself if I do my own search?

If you live in a deregulated area, you can choose your own electricity plan, but shopping for electricity is complicated. Most plans have hidden fees and variable rate structures that make the actual cost difficult to calculate and usually much higher than the advertised rate. Power Mojo has access to custom market rates, available to our members.

Are there any hidden fees in the plan you choose for me?

There are no hidden fees in the plans we select for you. Power Mojo identifies all of the charges and fees of each plan to calculate its overall effective rate at every usage level. We determine the actual cost and effectiveness of each plan before selecting a contract for your location.

What if I don’t like the energy provider you choose for me?

If the plan Power Mojo selected doesn’t suit you, contact us as soon as possible and we will set you up with a new provider.

If I want to sign up, what happens if I have an Early Termination Fee (ETF) with my current energy provider?

You can still become a Power Mojo member. Select your new electricity plan start date within the 14-day grace period prior to your current contract end date to avoid an Early Termination Fee (ETF) from your current provider. Power Mojo does not pay your ETF.

How can Power Mojo help if I am currently under contract with another energy provider?

You can still become a Power Mojo member even if you are under contract. We will monitor the market and may suggest early termination based on usage and market rates. We will also ensure you do not lapse to a variable rate.
